President Gargis of Local 360 of the IAFF wants to help the civilians of the EMS department. He will be looking into the manpower needs. Working together with supression and EMS divisions the manpower issue will be dealt with.

The forgotten five have been remembered and the pension board has decided to accept four of the five members. Brian Thomas EMT-P was not accepted and will remain as the last of the EMS civilians for another 15-20 years. This was unfair but this deep wound will heal over time. Brian will fight for the rights of the civilian EMS employees until his last day. President Gargis and the pension board will be long gone by then.

Congratulations to FF/EMT-P Steve Shedd, FF/EMT-P Dale Francis, FF/EMT-P Jamie Elliott, and FF/EMT-P Rick Leach. You have won the long drawn out and over stated battle to get on the pension you rightfully deserve.

EMS Protocols have been in place. Paramedics are now held to a higher standard and therefore giving better and faster care. Advanced EMT's on surppression division are given increased duties and patient care standards.
